An estimated 2.1 million Hispanics of Dominican origin lived in the United States in 2017, according to an analysis by the Pew Research Center on the American Community from the United States Census Bureau.
Dominicans are the fifth largest population of Hispanic origin living in the United States, representing 4% of the US Hispanic population. In 2017. Since 2000, the population of Dominican origin has increased by 159%, from 797,000 to 2.1 million during the period.
At the same time, the foreign-born Dominican population living in the U.S. grew 106%, from 543.88 in 2000 to 1.1 million in 2017.
